Bridging the Gap Between Business and Users

I believe great user experiences happen when we bridge the gap between businesses and their users—acting as a mediator to shape needs, emotions, and goals into experiences that drive real impact. I bring curiosity, cross-functional collaboration, creative ideation, critical thinking, and relentless dedication to crafting meaningful experiences.

My Journey

I’m a user-centric designer based in Dallas, with a background in storytelling, research, and creative problem-solving. While my path to UX wasn’t traditional, it was inevitable. Every step in my journey has been about understanding people, crafting engaging narratives, and designing experiences that truly resonate with people.

Immersed in art

My formative years were immersed in creative expression—from painting and pottery to photography and piano playing. Towards the end of high school, I turned my passion into a side business, creating commissioned paintings. This experience led me to ask a crucial question as I transitioned to college: What are my creative strengths, and how can I apply them to a professional career?

I sought to answer this question at Southern Methodist University, where I pursued degrees in advertising and fashion media. Although I was less interested in the fashion side of things, I was captivated by the diverse path the degree encompassed: multimedia production, journalism, broadcast, public relations, and business.

Discovering the power of storytelling

At SMU, I honed my skills in crafting compelling narratives supported by primary and secondary research. This led to two published articles in SMU LOOK Magazine and contributions to The Daily Update, including news packages and broadcast writing. These experiences taught me how to distill complex concepts into engaging, digestible content—an invaluable skill in UX design.

However, as graduation approached, I found myself at a crossroads. I was eager to pursue a career in research-driven creative production, but neither journalism nor graphic design (based on a surface-level understanding) felt like my true calling.

Finding UX: The Missing Piece

Soon after graduation, I began working as an e-commerce specialist, managing Stanley Korshak’s website through Shopify. As I navigated the platform’s backend, I became fascinated by how users interacted with the site—why they abandoned carts, why traffic fluctuated, what caused drop-offs, and which product categories attracted the most engagement. These questions sparked my curiosity, prompting me to explore careers that combined research-driven creativity with digital experiences.

That’s when I discovered UX design, and everything clicked. It was the perfect intersection of my strengths: analytical thinking, research-driven storytelling, creative problem-solving, and simplifying complex information into intuitive experiences. These were the same skills I honed at SMU, and they seamlessly transitioned into the ones I now use as a UX designer.

Without hesitation, I left my position to commit fully to a career in UX design. Taking this leap wasn’t without risk, but my curiosity, passion, and determination outweighed any uncertainty. I knew this was where I could make the greatest impact—and a career where I’d find joy even in the challenges.
